I know, custom printing fabric or any of our pre-sewn items is scary

I know, custom printing fabric or any of our pre-sewn items is scary. It’s a lot of money to invest, even though we have some of the best prices when it comes to print on demand fabric!

Do you have questions about custom printing? Drop them in the comments and I’ll get them answered.

Avoid these three mistakes and your custom prints will come out beautifully.

1️⃣ Avoid using the default scale. Or, at least make sure to check the scale of a single motif in the design before deciding to stick with the default scale.

Surface pattern designers have to create designs that work for a wide variety of projects. A scale that works for towels or wallpaper may not work for fabric.

I always suggest picking the largest motif in the design and comparing it to the rulers in the preview window. If it’s still hard to envision the scale, get a physical ruler or tape measure out and even hold it up to yourself. That way you know what a three inch flower in the screen will look like on the intended wearer.

2️⃣ Avoid unfamiliar fabric types. We have a fabric types page that describes each of the base fabrics we offer for printing. If a fabric in the drop down menu is new to you, head to the fabric types pages and read up.

If you still need more information, our Facebook group and blog are amazing resources. The more you know about each fabric type, the better you’ll be able to select the best fabric for your project.

3️⃣ DON’T avoid the custom printing best practices and policies page. We want custom printing to be a good experience for you. We want you to love custom printing fabric. Make sure you read all the information we provide to help make this your experience the best.

Our custom printing best practices and policies are one of the check boxes you have to mark before you are able to submit a custom printing order. So, please take the time to read them ❤️
